Frank Lampard would have sold Chelsea player back in 2020 if he had his way

Tonight, Frank Lampard assumes control of Chelsea and leads them into the quarterfinals of the Champions League.

Real Madrid, who could be one of the finest teams in the world right now, will be the opposition, and Lampard and some of the players will be facing Antonio Rudiger, a well-known opponent. The former Blues centre back left the club as a free agent before signing for Real Madrid not long after, and Rudiger was managed by both Frank Lampard and Thomas Tuchel at Chelsea.
The Athletic have a big article out today on Rudiger right ahead of the big game tonight, and they go through his time at Chelsea and why he left.
There were a lot of things said and done during Rudiger’s time at Chelsea, but it looks like Lampard would have sold the Germany international if given a chance.
That is according to the report, if Lampard had had his way, Rudiger would have been sold in 2020. The centre-half ended up staying, but played just eight times before Lampard was sacked in January 2021.
