Chelsea caretaker boss Frank Lampard insists Real Madrid are favourites for
their Champions League quarterfinal.
The Blues are in Madrid for Wednesday night's first-leg.
Lampard said: "Pressure on both teams due to the size of both clubs. Are
Real Madrid favourites? Yes. There's no better carrot in football and trying
to prove people wrong. That's a nice challenge. Football is pressure and if
you can't handle it, you're not a big club or big player.
"I think Toni Rudiger has done fantastically well. When I last saw him as
Everton manager, I wished him well as the Madrid mvoe was going to happen.
Antonio Rudiger played a lot for me but our story ended and his continued.
Good luck to him and good luck to any player that works as hard as Toni to
get to Chelsea and Real Madrid.
"I've got a huge respect for the team, my biggest respect for the team and
the success, it's for the players with longevity. Benzema, Modric, Kroos. To
appreciate what it takes and to be the leaders of the group - huge
admirationo for them
"We have to work against it and be clear about those threats and the areas
of the pitch that are repetitive. The players have to be aware of it and
deal with it."
