Cody Gakpo admitted he will make a choice on his future after the World Cup - why he would be a wonderful signing for Chelsea
Gakpo is reputedly worth £40 million to PSV, a price that hasn't changed since the summer despite his explosive start to the current season.
Graham Potter apparently wants to sign him to his team because of his 13 goals and 17 assists this season for PSV across all competitions.
Gakpo is a player that has attracted Grahm Potter's attention as he looks to expand his alternatives on the wings.
He recently said, "After. " when asked when he would make a decision about his future. I'm not thinking about that now.
"I'm really extremely concentrated on the competition, trying to keep performing well and helping the team and hopefully when we become world champions then I can think about that [the future].
“I’m just trying to keep focused and the other players don’t really talk about those things which also helps me in this situation.
“We came here with a goal which is to try to become world champion.
We believe in that and we’re going to fight and improve every day.
“We’re growing in the tournament, improving every game and this was another step higher.”
And if you believe the words of reporter Iomie Stanley – he could be real asset to that Blues side – he told icfootballnews:
‘It is the right thing to do and we will all be interested to see if he stays at PSV or if he leaves – he really is a classy player
‘You can easily see why all the big clubs are interested and honestly, he could be a player that add something to that Chelsea side guys’
‘He is quick – tall – skilfull and has the ability to score and add assists to any attack that he is in.
‘Potter needs something different to that attack – and Gakpo could be that.’
