Reece James provides update on stolen Champions League and Euro 2020 medals

Chelsea defender Reece James had his Champions League winners medal, Euro 2020 runners-up and Super Cup winners medals stolen by a gang of masked men earlier this year.

Reece James has extra incentive to win a Champions League medal this season after having his prize one nicked.

And the Chelsea star, who lifted the lid on his break-in Hell, is determined to do just that.

James was playing in a 1-0 win over Zenit St Petersburg last month when his £2.5m Surrey mansion was broken into.

And the thieves, a gang of five masked men, also made off with his Euro 2020 runners-up and Super Cup winners medals.

The heartbroken England full back, who later branded the culprits “cowardly robbers”, said: “There’s no update. There’s no lead from the police or anyone.

“It’s obviously tough to take, someone breaking into my house and taking such valuable items.

But there’s nothing I can really do. I’m going to just have to take it and move on. The medals would mean a lot to any player. To win a trophy is hard. It’s obviously tough.”

James expects to be in the team to face Malmo tonight as the reigning champions look to bounce back from their recent defeat to Juventus in the competition.
