Last night, the Chelsea player continued to play through extra time as Croatia rallied from a goal behind to tie 1-1 after 90 minutes.
The ensuing extra time produced no goals, and the 2018 finalists ultimately emerged victorious on penalties.
He received compliments on Instagram from his old teammates Vazquez and Gilmour after turning in another outstanding solo performance.
They are both missing from the World Cup. Vazquez was not selected for the Spain assault led by former Blue Alvaro Morata, while Scotland failed to advance to the competition.
