Tuchel explains why it’s so ‘difficult’ to replace ‘unique’ Kante

Kante limped off with a hamstring problem during the 2-2 draw with Tottenham earlier this month and is facing a minimum of a month out with the issue.
Last Saturday, Conor Gallagher and Jorginho began in midfield for Leeds, but the pair struggled as Chelsea lost 3-0 at Elland Road.

The prolonged absence of the France international is a serious setback for Chelsea, who will play Leicester in the Premier League this weekend. Tuchel emphasized Kante's physical problems and the difficulty of replacing his "unique" collection of skills.

Tuchel said in his pre-game press conference, "He's incredibly special. It's hard to duplicate him.

We had high expectations for the preseason since we had tailored it just for us. He felt incredibly powerful and believed he had received sufficient rest and preparation to be the best player he could be. We first just scheduled one game per week in the hopes that he could play for us.

”We have trust in our players so it will be the same system. We have played many games without him in the structure but we understand the challenge. To change completely because N’Golo isn’t there, I don’t think so.”
