Chelsea attacker Christian Pulisic may reportedly be about to step up his return from injury.
According to The Sun, the 23-year-old has a “key week ahead” in a bid to come back from an ankle problem.
A Blues insider has informed the newspaper that he may heal up next week, if the rehab goes well.
Pulisic, who’s not played since the opening week of the 2021/22 season, has been frustrated watching on from the sidelines.
The American attacker scored in the Premier League during the opening day win against Crystal Palace, but he’s been kept out since mid-August with a combination of illness and injury.
It’s been stop-start at times for him during his Stamford Bridge career, which is extremely frustrating for supporters to watch someone that is at his best when he finds rhythm in his game.
Pulisic link up with Lukaku could create fireworks upon injury return
For Pulisic, he’s yet to get the opportunity to play alongside Chelsea’s summer signing Romelu Lukaku on the pitch.
It wouldn’t be a surprise to see someone with Pulisic’s pace and movement really benefit playing alongside a powerful centre-forward in Lukaku.
Blues manager Thomas Tuchel is trying to find his best combination in attack, so it would be great to see this one tested in the near future.
