Extraordinary at both ends’: Some Chelsea fans amazed by defender’s performance in 3-1 win

Chelsea beat Southampton 3-1 today in a thriller at Stamford Bridge – and some Blues fans on Twitter were left singing the praises of their star Trevoh Chalobah.

Chelsea moved to the top of the Premier League table after earning three points in the home win over the Saints.

First of all, Blues defender Chalobah put the hosts ahead early in the first half. The 22-year-old arrived at the far post unmarked from a corner kick to head the ball into the net, netting his second goal of the season.

Southampton skipper James Ward-Prowse equalised from the penalty spot on the hour mark for the visitors before being shown a straight red card.

Chelsea’s eventually capitalised on their man advantage in the latter stages by scoring twice in the final 10 minutes. Timo Werner and Ben Chilwell clinched the league win by each scoring.

Thomas Tuchel’s side could remain top of the league during the international break depending on the Liverpool v Manchester City result tomorrow.
