Supporters of Chelsea were unable to watch Christopher Nkunku play from the start of their Champions League match against Manchester City. The Premier League winners have been greeted by RB Leipzig to the Red Bull Arena as each team aims to advance to the quarterfinals.
In preparation for the World Cup, Nkunku injured his knee while on international service for France. The 25-year-old was reportedly hoping to return to play by February, and on schedule, after spending a few months on the operating table, he is once again a member of Leipzig's matchday squad.
In addition, Blues supporters are eager to see the Frenchman before he perhaps joins Stamford Bridge in the summer. In October, Football.london claimed that Chelsea appeared to have won the race to sign Nkunku.
It's understood that he's signed a pre-contract agreement with the Blues and will move to west London in time for the 2023/24 season. However, a deal is not completely wrapped up yet and there are some final details that need to be arranged before the transfer is official.
