Chelsea have reportedly registered an interest in securing the services of Barcelona wonderkid Alejandro Balde.

Rumours persists that frequent conversations are going on behind the scenes involving officials at both side from England and Spain.

Marcos Alonso and Cesar Azpilicueta – both long-serving the Blues players – are believed to be attracting interest from Barcelona ahead of the 2022/23 season.

Furthermore, it has been reported that both Spaniards are keen to take up the challenge in their homeland, leaving the Catalan giants to find a way of meeting the Blues respective valuations.

With La Liga giants, currently enduring financial toughness, that could prove difficult, however, it appears that the Blues are ready to try to ease a transfer saga which could be prolonged throughout the summer.

According to journalist Ferran Martinez, the English top-tier giants have made talks with La Liga giants, Barcelona regarding the potential addition of Balde.

Martinez claims that the 18-year-old’s name has come up in conversations between the respective parties and could be used as a bargaining chip.

The teenager was provided with two starts and five substitutes appearances during the current season, many of which came during the first half of the campaign.

However, he played the full 90 minutes as the Catalan giants earned a draw at Getafe on May 15, Balde helping his team record a clean sheet in the process.

Balde’s inclusion in that fixture suggests that Barcelona new head-coach, Xavi has high hopes for the prospect and regards him as one for the future.

Nevertheless, generating a fee for the talented player would help the La Liga side in the short term, meaning that a proposal involving him may be considered.

The Catalan giants are believed to be open to parting ways with Sergino Dest in a similar fashion, however, the USA international would allegedly prefer to remain at Camp Nou.
