Newcastle now facing 'big issue' over £40m star at St James' Park

Journalist Pete O’Rourke recently told GIVEMESPORT that he thinks Pulisic would be interested in a move to St James’ Park next month. According to the Daily Mirror, Newcastle are keen to make the Chelsea star their next statement signing. In terms of his potential transfer fee, the same outlet claims that the Blues would want at least £40m for him.

Pulisic has been a peripheral figure at Stamford Bridge this season, making just three starts in the Premier League, as per Transfermarkt. Therefore, it would not be a shock if he asked for a move in January. What has Dean Jones said about Christian Pulisic and Newcastle? Jones thinks Pulisic’s wages could prove problematic for Newcastle. Speaking to GMS, the journalist said: “I think there is one major problem really when it comes to Newcastle signing Pulisic.

His wages are going to be a big issue, so when he comes to make his next move, you have got to consider what his expectation is going to be in that sense. “Newcastle aren’t going to be making him their highest-paid player, so there’s that to take into account.” Christian Pulisic’s salary According to Spotrac, Pulisic currently earns £150,000 a week at Chelsea, so Newcastle may very well have to offer him a big contract if they want to sign him.

He is clearly a talented individual, though, even if he has not always been able to show that in west London. At the World Cup, spectators probably saw the best of the former Borussia Dortmund man. He was the USA’s highest-rated player after scoring one goal and providing two assists in four games, as per WhoScored.
