According to reports, AC Milan, a Serie A powerhouse, would compete with Barcelona for the services of Jorginho, a Chelsea midfield wrecker.
In 205 games for the Blues, the 30-year-old playmaker managed to score 29 goals and record nine assists, but his future at Stamford Bridge appears to be in doubt.
Jorginho has not yet signed a new contract with the Blues, despite previously declaring he was "quite happy" there. His current agreement is set to expire at the end of the current campaign, and Barcelona is rumored to be interested in signing the midfielder.
The Daily Mail reports that Jorginho, a former Serie A player for Napoli, is being pursued by Serie A powerhouse AC Milan and Hellas Verona.
While the Catalan giants will have to reduce their wage bill to complete the transfer, they are hoping to persuade the Italy international to take up a fresh challenge in the Spanish top-tier.
However, AC Milan could benefit from the less aggressive tax system in the Italian top-tier, which could allow them to make Jorginho a desirable offer.
