Frenkie de Jong remains keen to stay at Barcelona and continue his stay at the Camp Nou – the likes of Chelsea have been informed
Over the course of the summer transfer window – De Jong was heavily linked with a constant move away from the club with suggestions that Barca were desperate to get rid
The Dutchman is rated very highly across Europe – but he has failed to make the impact at the club that many had hoped for and with the Spaniards deep in financial trouble – they were looking to get his £200,000-a-week wages off the books
But despite all the speculation – despite all the rumours that they wanted him to leave – De Jong was desperate to stay at the Camp Nou and fight for his place in the side – and that seemingly ended all speculation
However – recent reports the Camp Nou side still need to get rid of the Chelsea target so they can invest in other players, and That means that once the January transfer window opens up in just a few months time – the likes of Chelsea will be given the opportunity to try and secure a deal for the midfielder
Now – according to SPORT – he has no intention of leaving the Spanish giants
And the reports claims his stance has not changed; he wants to stay in Barcelona and will reject any move away in the coming transfer windows.
Despite the latest rumours – reporter Iomie Stanley claims he would be a good signing for Chelsea FC
Stanley told icfootballnews: ‘There is clearly a reason why Barcelona are keen to get rid of De Jong – maybe it is because they simply dont like him
‘If he does comes onto the transfer market – there will be quite a few clubs interested as De Jong is still a top-class midfielder that will bring some top level experience to any side that he joins.
‘Chelsea already have a number of players in that position – but with injuries and players linked with moves away – De Jong could be a very good addition to that Blues side’
