Chelsea to resume contract talks with midfield star post World Cup


After the World Cup, Chelsea intends to reopen contract extension discussions with standout player Mason Mount, according to 90min (via Football.London).

The Englishman's contract has been under discussion for the past several weeks, and according to the Guardian, the Blues are willing to offer him a significant wage increase as part of the deal.

However, there have been some delays in the club's discussions. They agreed to put off talking about it until the player got back from Qatar and resume after the World Cup.

Mount has had a middling season so far, with two goals and six assists in 21 appearances in all competitions. He hasn’t been helped by the fact that the team is not playing well along with changing the manager right after the first few weeks of the campaign.
