Chelsea are reportedly close to agreeing a contract to sign up talented defender Lewis Hall.
Hall made his debut last season in an FA Cup third-round tie against Chesterfield, where he assisted the third goal in a 5-1 victory.
Able to play at both left-back and in midfield, the teenager spent nine years in Chelsea’s youth setup after joining the club in 2012. He has enjoyed a meteoric rise through the academy and is viewed as one of the most exciting prospects at the club.
He has been a massive part of that side this season – to the surprise of many – and the club have made the decision to hand him a nice big contract that will end all speculation on his future.
He is currently on wage that doesn’t represent his talents and Chelsea wish to make sure that he is paid for his impressive performances – and handed a massive seven-year contract in the process.
Our view
Hall has been one of the biggest surprises of the season for the club – especially since the club have splashed some serious money adding players to the side that have been proven at the very top of the game for some time now.
He fully deserves a new contract and Blues fans will surely be delighted to hear the news – especially as there have been some clubs eyeing up a potential deal.
