Chelsea may have secret weapon to complete £86m Christopher Nkunku transfer deal

The German club is sure that their top player won't be leaving this summer, but Thomas Tuchel might be able to persuade them otherwise.

If Thomas Tuchel is willing to adopt a covert transfer tactic that would persuade RB Leipzig to reconsider their attitude on perhaps selling the France international this summer, Chelsea might be able to get Christopher Nkunku, one of their top transfer targets to replace Romelu Lukaku.

Since Lukaku's £8 million loan deal is nearly over and the Belgian is going to undergo a medical, Todd Boehly and Chelsea can focus on finding a replacement and assembling a team for Thomas Tuchel to contend with Liverpool and Manchester City for the Premier League championship. Raheem Sterling is apparently the top target, but City is reportedly holding out for a sum of roughly £45 million despite the two clubs' valuations differing by about £10 million.
Despite early impressions to the contrary, it isn't believed that Man City's number 7 will serve as a direct replacement for the record-breaking signing. London is aware that the Blues' assault will be revamped, and multiple attackers will be added as a result. One new pure striker will be acquired as part of this. No, it's not a direct replacement, and obviously, Lukaku was signed to be the target man and the striker to lead that assault, as Simon Johnson of The Athletic's Chelsea correspondent recently stated in a podcast.
