Boehly hands defender £150k-a-week deal – Star could make stunning Chelsea return – Lukaku replacement found?

Kai Havertz to replace Lukaku – James contract offered – Nathan Ake could make return in Chelsea roundup…

New Chelsea owner Todd Boehly has reportedly offered Chelsea defender a new contract to stay at Stamford Bridge

Reece James certainly stood out with his levels for the club last season and truly impressed many in the media, despite the erratic performances of many Chelsea players last season.

However, there have been some astounding rumors in the media in recent weeks that he may decide to leave Stamford Bridge, with Real Madrid and Man City both showing interest in a potential trade.

The footballer is now earning roughly £70,000 per week, but the Daily Mail claims that owner Boehly has taken decisive action to fix James' "contractual predicament."

Tying the academy product down to a new deal is one of the club’s top priorities – and the England International has been offered an improved £150,000-a-week contract – double what he gets right now

Thomas Tuchel has said he wishes Reece James could clone key player James – In April, the German said: “I would love to have two of Reece James, that would solve the problem, it’s like 50% towards wing-back and 45% towards the back three.

“It depends a little bit on how the opponent plays against us.

“Do we expect a lot of possession, how is their structure for their offensive transition.

“For this it can sometimes be helpful for Reece to play in the back three and be the first guy to cover in the transition and to not be involved in the attack.

“We have his speed and physicality in the protection of the opponents counterattack.

“I’m a bit more into that his very best position is the wing-back position where he is perhaps even more decisive, more useful but it is more demanding.

“The next step is to be a regular player over 50, 55, 60 matches and from there we have to decide that those positions are filled with top quality with him.”

Thomas Tuchel may already have a replacement in mind for Romelu Lukaku at Chelsea – and it may not surprise many fans

Lukkau has been a massive flop since his move back to Chelsea last summer and such is the clubs need to get him off the books – they have decided to take a massive hit on that £97m they paid last year and loaned him back to Inter Milan

That has led to all sorts of speculation about who will replace Lukaku at Chelsea this summer – and the Blues have been linked with some massive players over the weeks – but it could be Kai Havertz that is the main man at Stamford Bridge next season.
