Thomas Tuchel handed unexpected opportunity to unveil dream Chelsea attack vs Leicester City

Thomas Tuchel has attempted to switch off from football this week. He's done the school run, walked the dog, read a book or two. Yet come Monday morning, the Chelsea head coach will be back in work mode.

"Looking at the fixtures in December, January, it is a lot," Tuchel explained in an interview with Chelsea in the media. "The Club World Cup is coming, there have been national breaks. So we decided here with the staff to give one week off completely, to give everybody [not on international duty] the chance to recover mentally and recharge the batteries.

"December will be tough, January will be tough, and it will continue like this. No more breaks and we want to push the team to the limit and that's why we use the time now to rest."

Several Chelsea players have taken the opportunity to get away. Timo Werner  has been in Dubai as he recovers from a hamstring injury.Ross Barkley, has also been in the UAE.

But those not away with their countries will report back to Cobham next week as the Blues begin their preparations for a tricky Saturday lunchtime trip to Leicester City in the Premier League.
