Chelsea are sitting pretty at the top of the Premier League as we have reached the second international break of the season.
Thomas Tuchel’s side are one point ahead of Liverpool in the standings after beating Southampton last weekend and the Reds drew 2-2 in a rip-roaring game against Manchester City at Anfield.
The Blues are the second top scorers in the league (15) with only Jurgen Klopp’s side (17) ahead of them in those stakes, with West Ham (14) not far behind.
One of the issues that was at the forefront of Tuchel's very successful first six months in charge at Stamford Bridge was the lack of goals in his side.
Chelsea created plenty but struggled to fire in front of goal. After the German took over in January from Frank Lampard, they only scored more than two goals in a game once in the Premier League, in a 4-1 victory at Crystal Palace.
Timo Werner’s first season struggles in front of goal were well documented, Kai Havertz did his best as a false nine, but the lack of a goalscorer was obvious. Thankfully for Tuchel and Chelsea, his defence was borderline impenetrable.
