Chelsea have been handed a huge boost in the battle to secure N’Golo Kante’s future

Since you transferred to Chelsea from Leicester City a few years back, Kante has been one of the best holding midfielders in the world, as we all know.

His deal with the Blues expires at the end of the current campaign, and there has been much conjecture about his future there. He has been linked to a variety of teams, including Paris Saint-Germain, Manchester United, Real Madrid, Barcelona, and even Arsenal.

According to numerous media reports, Chelsea does not want to lose him, and they have extended an offer of a contract worth roughly £290,000 per week to him. However, rumors claim that he had rejected the terms due to the duration of the contract is not what he desires, and he is currently considering his future at the club.

However, the Athletic claim Chelsea have now made positive progress in talks over a new deal and there is now increasing confidence that Kante will commit his future to the club.

The length of the contract remains a sticking point, with the 31-year-old World Cup winner wishing for longer terms than the two years, plus the option of a third, that Chelsea offered.

But the report adds that the Stamford Bridge outfit are actively working to strike a compromise for a player they consider a legend at the club and are keen to retain.
