Tim Sherwood is still unsure of Graham Potter's assessment of Raheem Sterling's ideal position at Chelsea.
Sherwood expressed his astonishment over Potter's erroneous use of the England international on the Kelly & Wright Show.
When Sterling moved from Manchester City to Stamford Bridge in the summer for £47.5 million, it was widely believed that Todd Boehly had acquired a seasoned Premier League attacker.
The 27-year-old, who primarily played as a winger or outside forward for the defending English champions, scored 131 goals and assisted 95 others.

Under Thomas Tuchel, who used the new signing either through the middle or out to the left, this positional pattern persisted.
But for Sterling, Tuchel's sudden departure changed everything.
He soon discovered himself isolated at either
right or left-wing back, an area relatively unfamiliar to such an offensive player.
Sterling still searching for his best position
After a few trial runs in a defensive station, Potter returned Sterling to a more natural attacking birth on the right flank against Arsenal.
It seemed the handful of games as a wing-back messed up his coordinates, as he looked rather lost in transition.
The same could be said for a number of those wearing blue on the weekend.
Chelsea are at a crossroads under Potter, with major uncertainty surrounding their identity right now.
“Who is his best side? If we were sat there at the Bridge now and all sat next to each other as season ticket holders we wouldn’t be able to pick the team which he picks,” argued Sherwood.
“We have no idea where Raheem Sterling is going to play. Is he going to play high on the right, left-wing back? He’s not the only one, everyone is in different positions and they need to get continuity – a way of playing and stick to it.”right or left-wing back, an area relatively unfamiliar to such an offensive player.
