N’Golo Kante stays on the radar of Barcelona. But the Blaugrana do not view the Chelsea midfielder as a main target. And they will only pursue France international if they fail to sign their top targets in the summer transfer window. Kante is an all-time great in the PL and has stamped his authority during his stints with Leicester City and Chelsea.
N’Golo spent just one campaign with the Foxes but became a club legend in that season. And the French midfielder has been top-class since joining the Blues in July 2016. The 31-year-old midfielder has also tasted success on the international stage, winning the 2018 FIFA World Cup.
But the Frenchman has endured a frustrating 2022/23 campaign, managing just two games thus far. In addition, the former Leicester City midfielder’s deal ends in less than six months, with the situation alerting the Catalan giants. Barcelona might enter the market for a midfield reinforcement amid uncertainties surrounding Busquets’s future.
Kante is considering his future at the club level and might leave in the summer. So the Catalan giants might need to scour the market for a replacement. Several midfielders, including Kante, have thus popped up on Barcelona’s radar over a summer move.
And Kante is reportedly open to joining the Blaugrana an in a Bosman move. But the Catalan club will not prioritise signing the French midfielder in the summer transfer window. Meanwhile, Chelsea will attempt to tie the 31-year-old to a new deal instead of seeing him leave as a free agent.
