Man City planning surprise move for €70m-rated Chelsea forward

Kai Havertz, an attacking midfielder for Chelsea, is a target for Man City. In the summer of 2020, the 23-year-old forward joined the London club for a then-club-record transfer fee. Since then, Havertz has appeared in 106 games for the Blues in all competitions, recording 25 goals and 14 assists.

Even though Kai's statistics aren't the best, it's fair to conclude that he has often struggled to live up to expectations. One of the highlights of his stay at Stamford Bridge was when he and Man City scored the game-winning goal in the 2021 Champions League final.

Now, Pep Guardiola's team might be able to give him a second chance and put his largely promising career back on track. Man City is among the top teams in England and Europe. They are currently rebuilding the roster and setting themselves up for dominance over the next few years.

The Spanish manager is also famous for playing a false nine and it is something he could experiment with Germany international. Man City went big last summer and brought in Haaland and Julian Alvarez. The former is the club’s infallible goalscorer while the latter offers pace and the ability to run into space.

Adding the German attacker to the roster will give the English champions an alternative method of attack. Whether or not Kai Havertz continues to play for the Blues, he will always have a spot in the club’s history books thanks to his heroics at the Estadio do Dragao in 2021.
