Fabrizio Romano believes Chelsea will ‘find opportunities in January’ after poor run

Chelsea's new ownership group would have been watching as their newly acquired football team put on yet another subpar performance and result.

Despite low expectations from Chelsea supporters going into the game, something about the Blues' 1-0 loss to Arsenal at Stamford Bridge and the players' lack of fervor and intensity truly struck a chord with supporters.

Todd Boehly and the rest of the crew undoubtedly saw this as well, both inside and outside the stadium. It will be unsettling to observe that there has been a string of disappointing outcomes and performances.

In the summer of 2023, we've always anticipated a lively transfer market, but insider Fabrizio Romano thinks that following this string of disappointing games, Chelsea will be busy in the winter transfer window in January as well now.

Romano has been speaking in his exclusive CaughtOffside column.

“Chelsea will be disappointed with both the result and the performance against Arsenal yesterday, and it’s now four Premier League games without a win for Graham Potter’s side,” Romano said.

“I think they will try to find opportunities in January, as always; it was already a busy summer so they need to be smart now.

“They need a right-back probably, but they need time: I think the international break will be key for Graham Potter to improve the situation, he really needs time.”
