Renowned sports journalist, Romano has provided an update on the French striker’s current situation. RB Leipzig’s ace forward Christopher Nkunku has completed his medical for West London club, Chelsea. He is apparently ‘waiting’ to sign a contract with them.
Reportedly, Nkunku had undergone a ‘secret medical’ in the summer. Romano has now provided an update on the transfer’s current status:
“It’s important to mention that Chelsea have everything under control, he’s agreed in principle to join, he’s had a medical with Chelsea, and he’s waiting to sign his contract.”
“Everyone who’s joining Chelsea all agree that Nkunku will be an excellent signing for the Blues. Just a reminder – Chelsea don’t plan to meet Nkunku’s €60m release clause, they plan to reach a different agreement.”
Chelsea are reportedly paying a fee of €60m for the Frenchman’s release clause. The deal is likely to reach completion in 2023.
