Christopher Nkunku of RB Leipzig will shortly be announced as a Chelsea player, despite months of interest from Liverpool. The London club will shortly confirm the player's arrival, according to RB Live. Last month, The Athletic had claimed that the Blues and the Bundesliga team had reached an agreement for the 24-year-old player. Strikers like Morata and Timo Werner cost Chelsea hundreds of millions of dollars, but none of them have been successful thus far. The belief among the supporters that the acquisition of Nkunku will end their lack of a striker is growing.
Liverpool will pass up Chelsea in order to sign Nkunku.
Previously, Fussball Transfer had alleged that Liverpool had been actively monitoring the player with the intention to sign him. It looks very unlikely now as the 24- year is set to join the Blues. Liverpool would be fuming as they miss out on the signing of the brilliant player as he would have been a perfect fit for Jurgen Klopp’s style of playing. However, the Reds fans can take solace in the fact that this signing too can fall into Chelsea’s curse of failed strikers.
