Chelsea given green light to sign €20m-rated France international

Hakim Ziyech and Adrien Rabiot might switch teams in a deal that involves Chelsea and Juventus. The 27-year-old midfielder has undoubtedly been the greatest player in the center of the park for the Bianconeri this season. Rabiot is tied for second on the Old Lady goalscorers list this season with four goals, just behind Vlahovic.

At the end of the current season, his contract at the Allianz Stadium expires, and there have been no recent developments regarding his signing a contract extension. Although Adrien is highly regarded by Allegri, his future in Turin is far from guaranteed. Ziyech's availability presents Chelsea and Juventus with a potential win-win situation.

Little has changed since Hakim's struggles to adjust to life at Chelseathe arrival of Graham Potter. Signing France international would give the Blues a proven footballer with much experience at the top level. However, his major flaw remains inconsistency in his displays over the last few years.

The move to Juventus has failed to see him build upon the potential shown while at PSG, and the French midfielder will have little leeway to be a passenger at the London club.

With Kante and Jorginho’s deals being up next summer, Chelsea will need to bring in central midfielders who can perform from the word go. While the Frenchman can make up the numbers, it is questionable if he can put in a consistent shift week-in, week-out.
