Following her breakup with Barcelona defender Gerard Pique, international pop singer Shakira is apparently prepared to go to considerable lengths in order to retain custody of her kids. The former couple, who had been together for 11 years, made their separation public last month. Milan, age nine, and Sasha, age seven, were their two children from their relationship.

According to Spanish outlet El Economista, the "Waka Waka" singer is heartbroken by what has happened. A source told the site that the 45-year-old Colombian star "has realized that she did not know the man with whom lived together."
