Chelsea is planning to launch an approach for Real Madrid's 21-year-old winger.

According to reports, Real Madrid striker Vinicius Junior has turned down offers to stay at Santiago Bernabeu from three elite Premier League clubs.

The Brazilian winger was one of Carlo Ancelotti's standout players during the 2021–22 season. In 52 games across all competitions, he managed to score 22 goals and provide 20 assists.

Vinicius' heroics enabled Los Blancos to win both the UCL and La Liga, and he also scored the game-winning goal in the final against the Merseyside Reds.

The 21-year-old’s existing contract at the Bernabeu only has two years before his contract expires with the Los Blancos, however, he recently revealed that he was on the verge of signing an extension with the capital giants.

“Paris Saint-Germain interested in me? I want to stay at Real Madrid. I’m close to a contract renewal,” Vinicius told reporters when questioned on links with the French champions.

According to Spanish outlet Marca, Chelsea and Man Utd are both desperate to agree deal for Vinicius Junior in order to strengthen their offensive end.

According to the story, Ligue 1 powerhouses were genuinely interested in poaching the former Flamengo wonderkid from the Bernabeu, and a staggering €40m (£34.3m) annual wage was supposedly promised to the teenager.

The 14-cap Brazilian player will reportedly get €10 million (£8.6 million) annually under his new contract.
