Chelsea co-owner Todd Boehly has ‘made it clear’ to Cristiano Ronaldo’s agent Jorge Mendes that the Blues would be interested in signing the Manchester United star this summer, according to reports.

When the two talked about the 37-year-old at their meeting last month to discuss a variety of things, they brought up the potential of Ronaldo moving to Stamford Bridge.

Despite only joining Manchester United this summer, Ronaldo has made it clear that, should a "acceptable offer" come in for the Portuguese international, he wants to leave Old Trafford.
Man United are keen to keep hold of Ronaldo this summer following Erik ten Hag’s arrival, with Chelsea and Bayern Munich linked.

Ronaldo wants to play Champions League football next season and United will play in the Europa League after finishing sixth in the Premier League in the 2021/22 campaign.

As reported by Ben Jacobs, Thomas Tuchel has shown ‘no indication’ over whether or not he wants to sign Ronaldo.

Chelsea’s priority is currently getting a deal over the line with Manchester City for Raheem Sterling.

When Tuchel was asked about Ronaldo’s return to England last summer, he was extremely complimentary of the former Real Madrid and Juventus star.

“He is a true champion and has proved at any level, in any year, he can perform at outstanding levels,” said the Blues head coach.

“And don't forget, he will have an impact every day with the group, it's not just goals and assists.

“You ask me about it, which is fair enough. I think he will have a huge impact because he is a champion, a true champion.

"He has proved on any level in any year that he can perform on outstanding levels.

"Cristiano leads by example and makes things more complicated for us! Very exciting, we will not change our ambitions because of that."

Now the Sunday World reports that Boehly has made it clear to Mendes that Chelsea would be keen on bringing Ronaldo to the capital.

United have accepted Ronaldo’s reason for not showing up to Carrington, but continue to insist he is not for sale, wanting him to see out the remaining year on his contract.

Chelsea are also keen on Raphinha after agreeing a fee with Leeds United, but are waiting patiently for a decision from the Brazilian as he holds out for his preferred move to Barcelona this summer.
