At Stamford Bridge, Chelsea'truly, really wants' to recruit a star for £42 million.

Journalist Dean Jones claims that Chelsea is really interested in acquiring Paris-Saint Germain defender Presnel Kimpembe this summer.

The 26-year-old was under Thomas Tuchel's management while he was PSG's manager, and he now seems eager for a reunion at Stamford Bridge.

According to a recent story in The Daily Mail, Chelsea has made a £40 million offer for Kimpembe.

A trade appears to be more than likely given that PSG wants £42 million for their defense, according to the tabloid.

Kalidou Koulibaly was acquired by the west London club from Napoli over the weekend, but Tuchel still needs another center-back after Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen left the club.

In reality, Jules Kounde of Sevilla has been identified as another defensive target because Cesar Azpilicueta's future is now in doubt, so the German may need to recruit another player in addition to Kimpembe.

What has Jones said to Chelsea regarding Kimpembe?

The Frenchman, who has been referred to by his present manager as a "leader," has to be persuaded to join Chelsea, according to Jones, who spoke to GIVEMESPORT.

The transfer insider stated of Kimpembe to GMS: "Kimpembe is a guy that they truly, really want. You can understand why they aren't entirely persuaded he wants to leave PSG right now.

What would Chelsea's defense like in 2022–2023?

Tuchel is attempting to sign two additional central defenders to join Koulibaly, thus one would anticipate that he will continue to use a back three for the upcoming campaign.

With that in mind, if the Chelsea boss gets all of his centre-back targets this transfer window, Blues supporters could see a central defence consisting of Kimpembe, Koulibaly and Kounde.

Left-footed Kimpembe is anticipated to play on the left, Kounde could play on the other side, and Koulibaly could take Thiago Silva's place in the centre.

Last season, the Brazilian played 48 times in all competitions for the former European champions. Given that he will turn 38 in September and that the upcoming season will include the World Cup, Tuchel would not want to play him every week as he essentially did during the 2021/22 season.
