Reece James knows Chelsea underpaying him

Reece James is well aware that he is underpaid at Chelsea.

During the tenure of previous manager Frank Lampard, the fullback signed a new contract that increased his weekly salary to £70,000.

James has since established himself as a first-choice player and an England international.

According to The Athletic, James is aware that he is underpaid for the role he plays in the squad, and the new owners should make a new contract a priority to stifle interest.

Chelsea, on the other hand, are playing a risky game because the star's current contract has three years left on it, preventing them from offering him a new one.

Real Madrid and Manchester City have both expressed interest in the player, with Real considering him as a replacement for Dani Carvajal and Pep Guardiola seeing him as a striker.
