Raheem Sterling transfer will force Chelsea to reverse Hakim Ziyech statement with £33m call

The uncertainty surrounding Hakim Ziyech will only grow as Chelsea pursues Raheem Sterling as a new winger.

Not so long ago, Hakim Ziyech was the player who many Chelsea fans were incredibly eager to see take his first steps as a footballer. The Moroccan, who was acquired from Ajax in February 2020, signaled an audacious summer of hiring.

In a chaotic 4-4 Champions League draw with the Blues, Ziyech wowed the Stamford Bridge crowd for Ajax by spinning around and shrugging at Matthew Harding Lower. The Harding Stand may be ignoring Ziyech after more than two years for a different reason.

Another player being sought after in an effort to address the attacking underperformance that Ziyech is a part of is the very real Raheem Sterling of Manchester City. A first-team spot is necessary given Sterling's profile.

Although little in the UK implies a deal is that far along in the pipeline, Ziyech's future is undoubtedly in doubt this summer. Some sources from Italy claim that AC Milan is close to signing the Moroccan.

The winger has been added to a list of three players on the current roster who might be traded this summer. Along with Timo Werner and Christian Pulisic, these three attacking teammates belong to a talent group that has struggled to establish itself regularly, only displaying fleeting indications of form before disappearing from the scene.
