Chelsea keen on to agree deal for Sassuolo forward

Domenico Berardi of Sassuolo is said to be at a'summer crossroads,' with his long-term future perhaps being away from I Neroverdi, according to Gazzetta dello Sport.

The 27-year-old star has been at the Serie A outfit since joining from Juventus back in 2013, initially arriving on a temporary basis before the move was made permanent two years later.

He has steadily built his senior career and is now a regular player in Italy’s national team. That shows the attacker’s progress, and the aforementioned outlet says another sign of that is an early approach from Chelsea.

According to the same report, the Blues and Borussia Dortmund both made moves to sign the forward last summer. Gazzetta dello Sport take that as a clear indication of the leap in quality that Domenico has achievements.

The club board aren’t actively looking to cash in on the versatile wide man but would entertain offers which match their demands and allow their key man to continue his development.

There is no explanation for why a move to Stamford Bridge or Signal Iduna Park didn’t materialise, and the price tag is now put at a base price of €35 million plus bonus payments.
