Chelsea fans must remain calm on transfer silence

Fans are getting stressed about a lack of transfer activity from Chelsea, but that’s just the nature of the game these days

The internet is full of “insiders” and “transfer gurus” talking up the chances of a deal at every moment, taking you through every detail – real or imagined – of every deal, making you feel like you’re just a day or two away from seeing that player with a big grin, holding up a Blue shirt.

In reality, these deals take a long time, and have many moving parts. There’s a buying club, a selling club, a player with sporting interests, and an agent (or multiple) with vested financial interests.

Before you factor in the fans, families, and other factors.

Therefore, we should always strive to be patient with these things and recognize that there is more money at risk the bigger the deal. You should be sure you understand what you're betting on before you deposit your investment, just as when you play at a Spinsify casino.

Romelu Lukaku's ongoing slow motion automobile disaster should serve as a warning to all Chelsea supporters about the importance of doing your research. You don't have to look back very far to see a similar circumstance involving Kepa Arrizabalaga, which we are still dealing with and paying for today.

So patience and calm should be paramount at the top levels of the club, as well as in the fanbase. Big splashy signings rarely work out – just look at the list of the biggest transfers in history, how many of them have worked out? Desperately few.

Lukaku, Kepa, Alvaro Morata, and Christian Pulisic lead the Chelsea efforts list.

Although we are enormous fans of Kai Havertz's talent and consider him to be the closest thing in the top 5 to a success, it would be difficult to argue that he was worth the €72 million we spent Bayer Leverkusen two summers ago.

Let's all take a big breath and hope that the club is really doing their part to ensure that every signing that comes in is the right one at the appropriate price because of this slow-moving window.

That would be a huge improvement on our current, scattergun policy. We have faith that serious work is being done right now behind the scenes on deals for defenders, midfielders and attackers. Todd Boehly wants to make a splash – let’s give him a chance to pull it off.
