Tuchel calls midfielder to try and get Chelsea transfer going – ‘Ready to embrace’ player again

Earlier on Wednesday, we covered a report in Italy explaining the failure to cut Saul’s loan from Atlético Madrid short in January cost Chelsea the chance of signing Adrien Rabiot.

The midfielder had been requested by Thomas Tuchel, but negotiations failed because the Spaniard was already signed and adamant about staying away from his former team.

Saul will now, whether he likes it or not, return to Madrid, leaving a void in Chelsea's lineup, and it appears the German manager still wants Rabiot to fill it.

For those who are unaware, the French midfielder's deal with Juventus expires in the summer of 2019. Because the Serie A club is unwilling to raise his salary, a transfer elsewhere is being rumored.

Given that the most frequently mentioned price for him is €15 million, he wouldn't be prohibitively expensive, and Tuttosport is now alleging that Tuchel took matters into his own hands to.
