Thomas Tuchel admits Erling Haaland Chelsea mistake amid potential Romelu Lukaku link-up rumours

The German has come under criticism from people in Germany for his recent admission on the striker

Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel has come out and apologised to former club Borussia Dortmund for his recent comments on Erling Haaland which ruffled a few feathers in Germany.

Haaland, 21, had popped back up on the Blues agenda after recent comments surfaced that suggested that the European Champions.

The Chelsea boss said: “We talked about Erling Haaland a couple of times, including during the transfer window. But then it seemed absolutely unrealistic and not at all feasible.

“We talk about him regularly, of course, because he’s a fantastic player and clearly the defining figure at Dortmund, who is a big rival for us in the Champions League.

He continued: “I don’t think we’ve been really serious about it yet, but let’s see what will happen in the next few weeks.”

These comments came as a shock to the large majority of the Blues faithful who had parked any thoughts about signing the 21-year-old in the back of their minds.

Consequently, this has resulted in the manager in question coming out to clarify the situation in more detail on why these comments came out.
