The latest 'scary' Chelsea star emerges as Thomas Tuchel faces major Saul Niguez decision

Ruben Loftus-Cheek starred in Chelsea's 3-1 victory against Southampton on Saturday with Saul Niguez being an unused substitute in the win.

Ian Wright has lauded Chelsea midfielder Ruben Loftus-Cheek for his performance in the 3-1 win against Southampton.

The 25-year-old midfielder made his first start of the Premier League season on Saturday afternoon and provided the assist for the Blues' opening goal, courtesy of Trevoh Chalobah.

Loftus-Cheek, who spent last season on loan at Fulham, was strongly linked with a move away from Stamford Bridge throughout the summer transfer window, but was kept at the club by Thomas Tuchel.

He said: "What was good about Ruben Loftus-Cheek is that after the injury he had was going to Fulham.

"I didn’t think we’d ever see him go back to this kind of form. The display today was magnificent. People say about Ruben Loftus-Cheek about his energy and it looked like he was playing in himself.
