‘Actually incredible’: Even some Southampton fans were impressed by Chelsea player’s display against them

.

Kepa Arrizabalaga helped Chelsea qualify for the next round of the Carabao Cup on Tuesday night – and even some Southampton fans on Twitter couldn’t help but applaud his display against them.

Chelsea booked their spot in the Carabao Cup quarter-final draw by beating the Saints 4-3 on penalties last night at Stamford Bridge.

For Kepa, he was back in the starting line-up for the midweek fixture as he continues his role as cup goalkeeper.

The 27-year-old Spaniard was busy in net against a Southampton team that played attacking and aggressive football on their Stamford Bridge visit.

He didn’t cover himself in glory with Southampton’s equalising goal that allowed Che Adams to tap in from close range. However, he sent the match to penalties after two memorable saves in injury time to prevent a late winner. His save from a Theo Walcott penalty in the spot-kicks went a long way to securing the victory, too.
