Neymar £50m Chelsea move might result in Arsenal links and Christian Pulisic's decision

Chelsea have reportedly kickstarted talks with Paris Saint-Germain over the possibility of signing Neymar. The Brazilian has spent the last six-and-a-half years in France after completing a world-record transfer from Barcelona but has seen his future become the subject of speculation.

The arrivals of Kylian Mbappe and Lionel Messi have meant that the 31-year-old's prestigious status at the Parc des Princes has taken a major hit. Speculation surrounding his future has continued throughout the years amid reports of discontent between the PSG attacking trio.

Now, the latest reports in France have claimed that Chelsea owner Todd Boehly met with PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi on Tuesday for talks that involved the possibility of signing the forward. Le Parisien claim that Neymar's future was discussed between the two as an exit seems more feasible with just over two years remaining on his contract.

Chelsea have been the busiest club across Europe in the transfer market since Boehly's £4.25bn takeover in England. The US billionaire has spent over £600m on players since replacing Roman Abramovich last May and recently smashed the British transfer record with the £106m signing of World Cup winner Enzo Fernandez.

However, new recruits mean other players could be set for an exit. Antonio Rudiger, Andreas Christensen, Timo Werner and Emerson were among the long list of departures in the summer while Italian midfielder Jorginho completed a £12m move to London rivals Arsenal in January.

It's expected that more senior players will leave at the end of the season amid uncertainty over contract extensions of Mason Mount, N'Golo Kante and Mateo Kovacic. However, one player who will almost be certain to depart if Neymar should sign for the club is USA international Christian Pulisic.

The forward, 24, has been tipped to leave Chelsea in recent months after failing to cement a spot under Thomas Tuchel and Graham Potter. A January move was never a possibility due to an injury picked up in December but his situation in England is expected to be assessed in the summer - when he enters the final 12 months of his deal.

Pulisic has already admitted that anything could happen regarding his future but insisted he remained focused on Chelsea. Speaking after his dazzling displays at the Qatar World Cup, the former Borussia Dortmund man told the Indirect Podcast: "Right now I'm absolutely back at Chelsea, focused and ready to finish the season.

"But you know how things work in football. Things change quickly and anything can happen. At the moment, I am just pushing myself in training and working at Chelsea because that's where I am right now."

The USMNT star is currently out injured after picking up a knock in the January defeat to Manchester City. How he performs on the field upon his return is set to play a crucial role in the decision of his future.Chelsea have reportedly kickstarted talks with Paris Saint-Germain over the possibility of signing Neymar.
