Chelsea wants Jose Mourinho to bring back glory days back to Stamford Bridge, as per reports.
If it happens, the Portuguese manager will be joining the Blues for the third time to manage the club.
Reports suggested that the Roma boss is considering his future and might join the English club. The Special One is managing AS Roma for one and half years and helped them to win the inaugural UEFA Conference Cup. This ended Roma’s 15 years of trophy drought.
But Mourinho wants to see if his team qualifies for the Champions league and if not, he might see his future somewhere else.
However, as per La Gazette dello Sports reports, the Portuguese legend might consider his future as he is unhappy with the transfer budget provided by the club.
Journalist Simon Phillips informed GiveMeSports, Mourinho may be keen on joining Chelsea again, further stating —
“I was told that Mourinho approached some of the potential Chelsea buyers when the club was first up for sale through Jorge Mendes, obviously, the agent who has good connections with Mourinho and Chelsea.”
Apparently, Mourinho is fond of returning to Stamford Bridge where he has won 3 premier league titles. Though Current boss Graham Potter has a contract until 2027, but he is currently struggling with his Star-studded squad.
Chelsea recently signed the likes of João Felix, Mykhailo Mudryk, Enzo Fernandez, and a few others in this January transfer window. Blues have spent over £600 million under new owner, Todd Boehly.
Despite current reports, Mourinho denied any rumors about leaving AS Roma during his UEFA Conference Cup triumph last year. Speaking after the game, he said —
“I’m gonna turn down any proposal. I will stay here at Roma even if there are rumours. We made history today”
He further claimed —
“I have no doubts, I will continue as Roma manager. Many things are going through my head right now. I feel like a true Romanista.”
