When I made the decision to write this essay about Mason Mount, a certain movie scene immediately sprang to mind. Since it's from The Simpsons Movie, you've probably already seen it, but in case you haven't, let me briefly recap.
The Environmental Protection Agency has decided to cover the entire town of Springfield with a huge glass dome as a result of the family patriarch Homer's deeds. In order to get revenge, the large and diverse ensemble of individuals decides to march on 742 Evergreen Terrace while carrying torches that are on fire.
Replace the hand-drawn crowd with the one that appears on social media right away whenever Mount's name is mentioned, and you'll see why I identify with Homer. And unfortunately, there is no imaginary chainsaw for me to wield to buy some time. So let's get into this.
