Guardiola Provides Update On When Erling Haaland Could Be Back From Injury

According to manager Pep Guardiola, Erling Haaland of Manchester City will likely play against Fulham or Chelsea in the Carabao Cup.

Due to an ankle injury, the Norwegian international missed the weekend's 1-0 victory over Leicester, and Guardiola has declared he won't risk him in the Champions League match this coming Wednesday either:

He has damaged ligaments. We still have a week, and he feels better. Since we've already qualified, he won't play against Sevilla, but perhaps he can help us against Fulham. If not, he might compete in the Carabao Cup against Chelsea.

City will be hoping to have Haaland back in the lineup shortly because they were considerably less effective in front of goal over the weekend.

The 22-year-old has experienced extraordinary form this campaign, averaging a goal every 0.73 matches, and there is a slight concern that the Premier League champions may become overreliant on him for goals.

Fulham have conceded 22 in 13 league fixtures, so you would back the Citizens to score, even without Haaland, but when you have such a lethal weapon at your disposal, you would like to have him on the pitch as often as possible.
