Former USA international Eric Wynalda believes Chelsea winger Christian Pulisic will join Newcastle after the 24-year-old displayed a positive attitude following Graham Potter's decision to switch him to the wing-back position. The American has played for the Blues' last two games in the deeper position and hasn't complained despite being out of position.
Pulisic is yet to properly impress at Stamford Bridge since his arrival from Borussia Dortmund in 2019, scoring 26 goals and contributing a further 21 assists in 129 matches. As a result, he has been regularly linked with a move away with both Newcastle and Manchester United credited with an interest in the player, who may be hopeful of more game time.
However, he has found himself back in the first team in recent matches with Potter using him as a wing-back against RB Salzburg and Brighton. He switch in position has seen mixed results with the player impressing in the Champions League, setting up Kai Havertz equaliser against the Austrian champions. Yet he was poor in the Premier League encounter against Brighton, with his lack of defensive nous badly exposed as the hosts ran riot in a 4-1 win.
Despite this, Wynalda has praised his fellow American's attitude, especially in comparison to his teammate Raheem Sterling.
