The Daily Mail claims that Bayern Munich may be the front-runners to sign Dutch center-half de Ligt, which has Chelsea concerned.
Chelsea will focus on his fellow countryman Ake if that is the case.
For the young defender, Juventus is asking for about £68.9 million.
The Blues are in severe need of defenders this summer after losing Andreas Christensen and Antonio Rudiger to free transfers.
Ake was a Chelsea player as a youngster, joining in 2011 and eventually leaving in 2017, having spent most of that time on loan at other teams.
