He played a key role in the side that won the Champions League, and is also currently occupying top spot in the Premier League with the Blues.
Regardless, it does not appear that Silva will be able to go on forever, having recently turned 37.
He has admitted that thoughts of retirement will be considered at some point in the future but in the meantime he is enjoying learning under the tutelage of current club boss Tuchel.
Talking in an interview with Globe Esporte, the Brazilian said: “It’s [retirement] still far away. But at the same time it’s close. The coolest thing is that I’m close to very capable people.
“This gives you knowledge of the situation, of what you want. Not only here, but also at Chelsea with Tuchel. I hope that for my coaching career this can add a lot to me. I learned and continue to learn important things for football and for life.”
