Superstar sent clear message about completing possible move to Chelsea

Glen Johnson asserts that Cristiano Ronaldo will break his ties with Manchester United if he joins Chelsea.

Ronaldo hasn't actually said he wants to go, but Erik ten Hag has stated multiple times that the player is part of the plans for his new Man United team, so there has been a lot of conjecture.

Rumours emerged just a few days ago that  owner Ted Boehly had met with the agent of Ronaldo to discuss a possible move to Stamford Bridge – but that was swiftly rejected by the Man United board

However – those rumours still persist in the media and there is a feeling that the right offer could tempt Ronaldo to London – especially as he wants to play Champions League football and challenge for all the big trophies

But if he does join Chelsea this summer – Johnson has sent a clear warning to the Portuguese superstar – Johnson told GGrecon: “If he goes to Chelsea then he’d burn his bridges at Man United.

“From Chelsea’s perspective, he’s a massive brand and he may be expensive, but you’d probably make that money back in two weeks through shirt sales.

“He may cost a fortune but the club would probably make more by just having him. Signing Ronaldo is like signing a commercial deal.

“I don’t think Ronaldo can change Chelsea’s fortunes as a player now, but I think having him in the dressing room would.

“On the pitch now, he’s not the Ronaldo we all want to see, but him being in the dressing room will get another 5% out of everyone around him.”
